The word on the street from people who saw the Daily Show taping tonight (which will air later this evening) is that Jon Stewart completely destroyed CNBC when Jim Cramer came on the show to settle his score with Stewart who's been warring with the ex-hedge fund manager-turned-broadcaster who made some spectacularly wrong calls on the market last year.
I'm looking forward to it.
Nate Update: Here are the videos
We don't endorse the ads (Though Nate is looking forward to GTA: Chinatown Stories)
This is pretty damming stuff, and Stewart proves himself as one of the nation's best media critics yet again. I (Nate) Would just have to say that I came out of this with a good deal of respect for Cramer. He had the balls to go on when he knew he was likely to get owned. He also did own up to a lot, if not all of the mistakes. Finally, I have to wonder if this guy, and CNBC in general is only a symptom rather than a cause. Yes, they certainly cheer leaded the bubble and helped its collapse and their journalistic standards, by most accounts, were lacking. But for CNBC and Mad Money to work, there had to be a huge market for it, and I think that to some extend, everyone who participated in all these risky financial bets shares some of the blame. This is not to let CNBC and Cramer off the hook, but I think there's a larger issue.

way to go jonny
Don't spoil anything. I'll watch it tomorrow evening at the earliest.
Yeah I watched the condensed version and parts of the full version, and I think that Stewart made some very valid points about CNBC, and I agree with you that Cramer isn't the problem by himself.
